Cuteness!!

I love having a little girl!! They are so fun to dress and do girly things with. Olivia is growing her hair long for Lizzie's wedding. At first I wasn't sure how it would do long since it's pretty fine. But, she sure looks so cute in ponytails and french braids. Last night after her bath, I french braided her hair while it was wet. She slept on it and this morning we took it out. Check out the results! Is that cuteness or what? Now don't let those big blue eyes fool you, she definitely has a 'tude! But I sure do love her!!! Like mother like daugher!!

Nice Weekend!

This has been a really nice weekend. We didn't have any plans. Actually, this will be the last weekend in a long time that we don't have anything to do. May will be pretty busy!

We started our weekend just lounging around - in our bed. As I explained in an earlier post, the kids like to sleep in our bed. Actually, we all love our bedroom. It's kind of like Grand Central Station. Everyone likes to congregate in our bedroom. We watched a few movies in bed and wrestled around. Our favorite game is trying to push Jimmy off the bed. Me and Alex try with all our might to push him off and only succeed in moving him an inch. He is so strong!!! We love it!! Of course, he can push us off in one easy swoop. Again, love!! Of course, his favorite game is to steal my pillow. I am really picky about my pillow. My pillow is my comfort...always has been. Anyway, after lounging for most of the day, we decided we needed to do something active. We went and played racquetball. Jimmy and I played each other twice. He beat me twice but that's only because he CHEATS! I was trying to teach Olivia to play. She got a kick out it. Alex can be pretty good too. I think I will look into a racquetball class for him. I think just a few lessons and he will be a good competitor.

Today was a great day as well, we headed over to my mom and dad's. The kids love to spend time with their Grandma and PawPaw. My mom took me shopping to return a few shirts she bought me because they were too big. I found 3 replacement shirts. Very cute! I was so pumped! I am trying to lose weight and today, I actually got a size smaller. I usually get all my clothes in the plus size section but I tried on a shirt from the regular Misses section. It fit but looked a little funny in my mid area. Definitely need to work on the stomach and butt areas! But getting there!! After shopping, I had a softball game. Of course, I thought it would be cancelled because it was raining. Nope, we played in the 50 degree, rainy weather anyway. Poor Alex, he is our team's bat boy. He had on shorts and t-shirt. I know, you're probably thinking bad mommy. The temperature dropped as the day went on -- when we left earlier, it wasn't that cold. He did a great job and stuck with us even though he was cold. A guy from my team gave him his fleece to wear so that helped. Anyway, I had a couple really great hits. I love playing sports again. My goal is to get back to my passion -- soccer. But I have to get more physically fit for that sport. I still feel like a "moose is loose on the field" when I run the bases. But I am getting there.

So, we are winding down. Bath, movie and bed for everyone. Hoping for a great week!

When you get bigger

you can have a baby too! That's what Olivia told ME last night. WHAT? We were at Alex's baseball practice and a mom came up with her 1 year old in the stroller. Olivia fell in love. She was all over that baby boy. She then proceeded to tell me that when I get bigger, I can have a baby too. I politely told her that Mommy wasn't having any more babies. She didn't believe me. Does she know something I don't? HA! I finally told her that maybe one day when SHE was bigger, SHE could have a baby! I cringed as I said this. How is it possible I am having this conversation with my 3.5 year old? The things kids say! Where do they come up with this stuff?

On another note, please keep a friend of mine in your prayers, she is having quadruplets. She already has a 4 year old and 2 year old. She is having two sets of identical twins. 2 boys and 2 girls. She starts bedrest in May.

Somebody's sleepin' in my bed!

That's what I say to Olivia in the morning after she slept in my bed the night before. Of course, I said it to her this morning. And, of course, she just cackles when I say it because I say it in a "Goldilocks & Three Bears" tone. Our bedtime routine is very non-traditional. When it's time for the kids to go to bed, they don't go to their own rooms. Oh, No, they want to fall asleep in Mommy and Daddy's bed. So, me and the kids pile in my bed. I read a book while they fall asleep. Once Olivia is asleep, I move her to her bed. When Jimmy comes to bed, he moves Alex to his bed. Believe me, we have tried to get everyone to start off and wake up in their own beds! But, it never fails that a few times a week we get visitors in our bed in the middle of the night. I took Olivia to her bed twice last night before finally giving in and just leaving her in the middle ("her spot" as she claims). Many people are against the whole bed-sharing. It's fine with me. I realize that one day, these two are going to want nothing to do with me so I take it while I can get it. I also think I allow this because growing up, we were never allowed to sleep with my parents. We were always sent back to our rooms. Sometimes, you just need that mommy lovein'. Anyway, despite sleeping in one position for most of the night, I love that my kids want to be that close to me!! Good thing we have a king size bed!!
